Permit Forms

If we provide permitting services for a particular township, you will find each permit application below.

NOTE: We do not provide the same type of services for every township; for example, we issue all building and subtrade permits for Courtland Township, but we issue only building permits for the City of Greenville. Also most of the permits are different, so please be sure to chose the correct permit for the community you are working in. You may be asked to resubmit if you turn in the wrong permit application. Fees may be different depending on community as well.

IF YOU ARE IN KENT COUNTY: If you are on well and/or septic tank and your project is either outside the current footprint of existing buildings OR you are adding any bedrooms or bathrooms, you must apply for a KENT COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT CHANGE OF USE PERMIT. You can find the application link on our “County Informational Sheets” Page under the PERMIT FORMS heading.
If the County determines that a permit is not required for your project, they will send you an email stating that the permit is not needed. We will need a copy of that email in place of the Change of Use Permit.
This is not something we have control over, this permit is REQUIRED by Kent County.

We do not issue permits for Crockery Township; however, we do provide inspection services for them. You MUST call Crockery Township to schedule your inspections - we cannot schedule them at our office.

REMEMBER THAT PERMITS EXPIRE AFTER 6 MONTHS WITH NO ACTIVITY.

Cannon Township

ALL Cannon Township building and subtrade permit applications should be sent directly to IMS. ZONING AND STORMWATER applications go DIRECTLY to the TOWNSHIP.

*You can also send Cannon applications electronically via email to ims@cannontwp.org or drop them off at the IMS office in Rockford. Zoning application MUST go through Cannon Township. When Zoning is required, we will not review a permit application until we receive approved zoning from Cannon Township.
